Government & Funding

Energy: 

• Clean Electricity Investment Credit: Federal incentive that allows businesses to reduce their federal tax liability when they invest in qualifying clean-energy technologies.
• Energy Efficient Commercial Buildings Tax Deduction: Federal tax deduction for qualifying improvements to commercial building lighting, HVAC/hot water systems, and the building envelope. Only if construction began by June 30, 2026.
• Rural Energy Assistance Programs (REAP): Provides grants and guaranteed loans to agricultural producers and rural small businesses for renewable energy systems and energy-efficiency improvements, such as lighting, refrigeration, HVAC, controls, and insulation.

Water: 

• Agricultural Water Resources Assistance Program (AgWRAP): Provides reimbursement to agricultural businesses that increase on-site water storage and water use efficiency.
• Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP): Provides financial and technical assistance to agricultural producers for conservation projects, including practices that improve irrigation efficiency, conserve water, manage runoff, and protect water quality. Available practices and funding priorities vary by state.
• WaterSMART Initiative (WSI): Provides additional funding to EQIP applicants, along with resources and tools to manage soil moisture, improve irrigation water-use efficiency on cropland, and protect irrigation water sources from depletion.

Conservation

• Agricultural Conservation Easement Program: Helps landowners protect working farms and agricultural land from non-agricultural development and supports the protection and restoration of wetlands through conservation easements. 
• Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP): Provides financial and technical assistance to agricultural producers for conservation projects, including practices that improve irrigation efficiency, conserve water, manage runoff, and protect water quality. Available practices and funding priorities vary by state.
• Conservation Innovation Grant (CIG): Supports the development of new tools, approaches, practices, and technologies to further natural resource conservation on private lands.
• Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP): Provides financial and technical assistance to agricultural producers to build on existing conservation practices and add new improvements that support soil health, water quality and efficiency, wildlife habitat, and other natural resources.
• Conservation Loans: Provides funds to farmers to implement conservation measures.
• Conservation Reserve Program: Provides annual rental payments and cost-share assistance to agricultural producers and landowners who convert environmentally sensitive land to conservation cover, helping reduce soil erosion, improve water quality, and support wildlife habitat.
• High Tunnel Initiative: Provides financial and technical assistance to eligible growers to install high tunnels, or hoop houses, that extend the growing season while supporting practices such as efficient irrigation, soil health, and pest management.
• Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP): Provides funding and technical assistance for conservation projects that address natural resource challenges on agricultural land, with producers able to participate in approved projects available in their area.
• Regenerative Pilot Program: Launched in 2025, the pilot program addresses whole-farm resource concerns by supporting voluntary regenerative agriculture conservation plans.

• Green Rebates: Company that issues rebates for purchases that will make a horticulture business more energy efficient.
