Progress Powered by Partnerships

Since its launch, Sustainabloom has become the go-to sustainability education resource for the floral community, uniting industry members and businesses to advance environmental, social, and economic progress.
Together, in collaboration with researchers at North Carolina State University, Sustainabloom has created a foundation of knowledge, tools, and inspiration that’s transforming how floriculture businesses think about sustainability.
With the help from industry experts, researchers, and industry partners, Sustainabloom has grown into a thriving hub for sustainability education. Our Founding Supporters helped pave the way for this work, and now we are calling on all floral businesses to help support future Sustainabloom efforts. Every dollar contributed to Sustainabloom goes directly toward creating free, high-quality, research-backed resources accessible to everyone, and we’ve already made tremendous strides.
What We’ve Accomplished Together
Since 2022, we’ve:
- Analyzed 800+ sustainability documents, reports, and editorials to guide program content
- Released 18+ research-backed SustainaGuides covering key topics like composting, substrates, integrated pest management, DEI, and energy efficiency
- Launched a dedicated website in 2024, welcoming over 10,000 unique visitors from 80+ countries in its first year
- Introduced the “Sustainabloom Road” video, an inspiring visual journey toward industry-wide collaboration
- Delivered quarterly newsletters, free webinars, and practical tools to support sustainable progress
- Debuted a customizable Sustainability Planning Template for florists, helping businesses assess and track their sustainability goals
Every guide, video, and tool has been made possible by contributions from across the floral industry: proof that when we work together, meaningful change happens.
What’s Coming Next
As we look ahead to 2026, Sustainabloom will use these incredible resources to work directly with industry organizations on implementation and sharing stories, with even more exciting initiatives ahead:
- Additional Planning Templates tailored to additional industry segments
- Roundtable discussions connecting you to experts across all levels of the floral supply chain
- The Barriers Research Project, launching this fall, to identify and overcome common challenges in adopting sustainable practices
- Expanded outreach and event participation to share Sustainabloom’s free resources at conferences, trade shows, and industry gatherings: spreading awareness, fostering collaboration, and helping more businesses take their next step toward sustainability.
As we prepare for a new year of innovation and impact, we invite and encourage you to be part of Sustainabloom’s ongoing growth. Your tax-deductible donation before December 31st will help us continue providing free education, expanding our resources, and empowering every floral business to bloom sustainably.
